The Council of Great City Schools’ annual conference included a special Town Hall discussion. The Town Hall topic was “Testing in American Schools”.

The Town Hall is only part of the Council of Great City Schools 58th Annual Fall Conference hosted this year by Milwaukee Public Schools in Milwaukee for big-city school superintendents, board members and senior administrators throughout the country. The theme for the conference is “Fresh Water, Fresh Thinking in Urban Education.”

The Town Hall featured National Public Radio Education Correspondent Claudio Sanchez who will moderate the event. Panelists include: Valeria Silva, superintendent of the St. Paul (MN) Public Schools; Jumoke Hinton Hodge, board member of the Oakland (CA) Unified School District, and chair of the Council of the Great City Schools; Marc Tucker, president and CEO of the National Center on Education and the Economy; Chris Minnick, executive director of the Council of Chief State School Officers; and Jaxs Goldsmith, senior class president at Riverside University High School, Milwaukee.
